Contest Eligibility

For prize eligibility: 1) deer heads for sampling (sample) must be submitted by the individual that harvested the animal; 2) only native white-tailed deer will be accepted; 3) animal must be legally harvested during the open 2022-2023 white-tailed deer season; 4) animal must be harvested from within Collier, DeSoto, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hendry, Lafayette, Lee, or Taylor counties, Florida; 5) animal must be logged and reported (through Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FWC) harvest reporting system prior to submitting the sample; 6) entrant must provide all required information on the sample submission form. Employees and family members of employees of the FWC are not eligible for contest entry. 

How to Enter

To submit a head for CWD sampling, go to www.FLCWDsweepstakes.com or call the CWD Hotline at 866-CWD-WATCH (293-9282) to find drop off freezers in your area. Samples must be received by Jan. 29, 2023. Participants can submit more than one sample during the sweepstake entry period, as long as the number of deer an individual harvests does not exceed the annual statewide bag limit, possession limit and daily bag limit. Additional Information 

A random drawing will be conducted on or about Feb. 27, 2023, from all eligible entries received by the FWC. Winners will be notified via email and/or telephone within 7 days after the random drawing. If a winner fails to respond within 14 days, or if the notification(s) are returned as undeliverable, that winner will be disqualified and an alternate will be determined. 

By participating in the contest, you (i) agree to be bound by these official rules, including all eligibility requirements, & (ii) agree to be bound by the decisions of the FWC and Woods ‘n Water Magazine, which are final & binding in all matters relating to the contest. Except where prohibited by law, entry & acceptance of prize constitute permission to use each winner’s name, photograph, video, comment, hometown, likeness, & prize won for future advertising, publicity in any & all media now or hereafter devised throughout the world in perpetuity, without additional compensation, notification, release, or permission.

Entrants on their behalf, and on behalf of their respective heirs, executors, administrators, legal representatives, successors and assigns (“Releasing Parties”), release, defend and hold harmless the FWC, any entity involved in the fulfillment of the prizes or the administration of the contest, and their respective employees, officers, directors and agents of each (“Released Parties”), from any and all actions, causes of action, suits, debts, dues, sums of money, accounts, reckonings, bonds, bills, specialties, covenants, contracts, controversies, agreements, promises, variances, trespasses, lost profits, indirect or direct damages, consequential damages, incidental damages, punitive or exemplary damages, judgments, extent, executions, claims and demands whatsoever, in law, admiralty or equity, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, against Released Parties which any one or more of the Releasing Parties ever had, now have or hereafter can, shall or may have which in any way arise out of or result from entrant’s participation, acceptance and use or misuse of any prize, including property damage, personal injury or death.

Prizes are awarded “as is”. Winners acknowledge the Released Parties do not make, nor are in any manner responsible for any warranty, representations, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the quality, conditions, fitness or merchantability of any aspect of any prize, except that prizes may be subject to the corresponding manufacturer’s stated warranty, if any.
